Libyan Supreme Court rules parliament invalid

TRIPOLI: Libya’s Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the country’s recently elected parliament was seated unconstitutionally, throwing fresh fuel on the country’s increasingly violent and divisive civil conflict. The country’s warring factions seized on the ruling to harden their own positions, threatening to complicate efforts by the United States and others to broker a political settlement.
