GIRL, SOLDIER KILLED IN FRESH CEASEFIRE VIOLATIONS

A 17-year-old girl and an army jawan were killed in fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Uri district on Saturday. Pakistan troops fired at forward Indian posts in Kamalkot area which resulted in the deaths, an army spokespers­on said. Ceasefire violations had claimed seven lives last month.

BENGALURU: The Pre-University College Principals Associatio­n has asked colleges to keep a watch on activities of girl students, by collecting informatio­n on their behaviour after obtaining due permission from parents. The guidelines circulated to colleges in Bengaluru south, advises the colleges to keep an eye on who accompanie­s girl students before and after their college hours and about their behaviour with that person, in case of any suspicion. The body came out with the rules after deliberati­ons on August 27.
