Play Way students honour grandparents at annual concert
LUCKNOW: Students of the Play Way Academy and Play Way Inter College honoured their grandparents during their joint annual concert, ‘Elders Day-2014’, held at Sant Gadgey Auditorium in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow on Saturday.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest VK Saxena, head acharya of the Ramashram Satsang. He lighted the the lamp and followed it by an inspirational speech praising the efforts of the school and encouraging the students to create a unique identity for themselves. He said all students should pursue their dreams with passion.
The students began the concert with a ‘Saraswati Vandana’ by girls of Classes 8 to 10 and ‘Ganpati Dance’ presented by boys of classes 9 to 12. The girls then performed a Gujarati dance on ‘Nagade Sang’, while boys of Class 6 to 10 performed an energetic folk dance ‘Tattad Tattad’. The pupils went on to present several music and drama performances.
The grandparents, who were special invitees on the occasion, were then honoured by the students. The programme aimed to inculcate respect for the elders among the children, along with a sense that the elders are the backbone of our society, director Anil Kumar Shukla said.
