Play Way students honour grandparen­ts at annual concert

LUCKNOW: Students of the Play Way Academy and Play Way Inter College honoured their grandparen­ts during their joint annual concert, ‘Elders Day-2014’, held at Sant Gadgey Auditorium in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow on Saturday.

The programme was inaugurate­d by chief guest VK Saxena, head acharya of the Ramashram Satsang. He lighted the the lamp and followed it by an inspiratio­nal speech praising the efforts of the school and encouragin­g the students to create a unique identity for themselves. He said all students should pursue their dreams with passion.

The students began the concert with a ‘Saraswati Vandana’ by girls of Classes 8 to 10 and ‘Ganpati Dance’ presented by boys of classes 9 to 12. The girls then performed a Gujarati dance on ‘Nagade Sang’, while boys of Class 6 to 10 performed an energetic folk dance ‘Tattad Tattad’. The pupils went on to present several music and drama performanc­es.

The grandparen­ts, who were special invitees on the occasion, were then honoured by the students. The programme aimed to inculcate respect for the elders among the children, along with a sense that the elders are the backbone of our society, director Anil Kumar Shukla said.
