ARMS SURRENDER FIRST, NAGA REBELS TOLD

NOV 14: The Government of India has rejected the underground Naga rebels’ demand for withdrawal Indian security forces from Nagaland before the surrender of hostiles. Peace talks were resumed near Kohima. The talks were held in camera.

JAPAN: CABINET FORMED

NOV 10: Japan’s new Prime Minister, Mr Eisaku Sato, on November 9 formed his Cabinet ... the speed with which the Cabinet was formed was partly to forestall further factional pressure within the Liberal-Democratic Party.
