LYNCH TO BE NAMED US ATTORNEY GENERAL
WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama has picked Loretta Lynch, a federal prosecutor in New York, to succeed Eric Holder as his next attorney general. If confirmed, Lynch, a 55-year US attorney for Brooklyn, will be the first African American woman to hold that position. An announcement was expected later Saturday. “Ms. Lynch is a strong, independent prosecutor who has twice led one of the most important US Attorney’s Offices in the country,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest in a statement.
