NOIDA: The term of the Amarnath Verma judicial commission probing corruption allegations against former Noida Authority chief engineer Yadav Singh has been extended by six months, Noida authority officials said on Wednesday.

The commission would now work till February 10, 2016. The state government has communicated this to the Noida Authority. Initially, the Uttar Pradesh government had given the commission a six-month term which was to expire on August 10. The commission has been camping in Noida since August 3.

The Noida Authority and police both said they lodged an FIR against Yadav Singh following a three-page interim report of the judicial commission. But justice (retired) Amarnath Varma, who heads the judicial commission, said he did not send any such report to the government.

Justice (retd) Verma said: “A judicial commission, as per law, cannot send an interim report to UP government. We will only send a complete report.”

The UP government had also asked the EOW to probe the economic aspects of the Yadav Singh case and report to the judicial commission.

“But the EOW has never reported to me. I have never met any EOW official nor did they communicate on any issue. Since I do not have any communication with EOW, I am not aware if they have sent a report to the UP government,” said justice Verma.
