- HT Correspondent

ALLAHABAD: Minister of state for micro, small and medium enterprises Giriraj Singh on Saturday said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was speaking the language of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed.

While talking to media persons on JNU issue at Magh Mela area on the banks of Sangam, the firebrand BJP leader said: “Whatever has been said at JNU in the name of freedom of speech must be pleasing Pakistan. People need to understand that only if the country survives will their politics stay alive.”

Referring to JNU student union president Kanhaiya Kumar, Singh said that any person with anti-national views could not be a son of Bihar.

“Opposition parties that are supporting Kanhaiya Kumar have no respect for the Indian Constitution while defending him. Leaders like Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee are not able to indentify anti-national activities,” he added.

When asked that BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha was also opposing action in JNU incident, the minister said the party would take appropriate action at the right time. Coming down heavily on people criticising the recent resolution of central university vice chancellors to fly tricolour on campuses, Singh questioned the rationale behind the opposition. “Can’t this new tradition be started now? Should one go to Rawalpindi to unfurl the national flag,” he questioned.

On the law and order scenario in his home state, the minister said that chief minister Nitish Kumar should break his silence on the issue.
