UP’s Prakash, Ankur shine in blind judo

LUCKNOW: On the second day of 4th National Blind and Deaf Judo Championsh­ips at the badminton hall of KD Singh Babu Stadium matches in the blind sub junior and senior categories were held. In the sub junior blind boys’ category Chandra Prakash and Ankur Kumar were the only two UP judokas to finish first.

In addition, in the senior blind category bouts played on Saturday, Tamil Nadu lifted the winner’s trophy with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, while Haryana stood second with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. In the deaf senior category, J&K became winners with 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze while Haryan a came second with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. FITTNESS RUN

Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies- Noida will be organizing a ‘Fitness Run’ on Sunday from 6 to 7:30 am.

The starting point of the run would be the KD Singh Babu Stadium. This event would not only promote a healthy lifestyle amongst the citizens of India, but would also promote one of the lesser promoted branches, i.e. athletics. The event will be organized in collaborat­ion with the U.P. Athletics Associatio­n. There will be a 5 km run for both male and female athletes. The number of participan­ts is expected to be around 800 - 1000. REPL CUP

TCS and Telenor came out victorious in the two quarter final matches played in the ongoing REPL Corporate Cup at Paarth Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday. In the first quarter final TCS Beat Airtel by 20 runs while in the second quarter final Telenor beat Hero Moto Cops by a resounding margin of 99 runs.
