MOBILE WATER ATM START-UP GETS THE GREEN SIGNAL
Five young entrepreneurs, who had been running from pillar to post seeking a place where they could park their mobile water ATMs to quench people’s thirst, finally got an NoC from the LMC after the intervention of the chief minister’s office (CMO) on Thursday. Additional municipal commissioner PK Srivastava said Decentrik Technologies Private Limited (the firm of these youths) was given permission to park their water ATMs at Hazratganj (near multi level parking lot), Indira Nagar (near multi level parking lot at Bhootnath), near Janeshwar Mishra Park, near Collectorate, Near Imambada in Old City and near Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar.
He said it’s good that the company was dispensing safe and quality water at ` 5 per litre when other companies were selling 1-litre bottles at `20. They are also selling 250 ml water at `2 – that too in recyclable paper glasses, added Srivastava.
Vineet Vats, former investment banker, Pradeep Pandey and Anand Singh (both MBAs), water technologist Vikas Vats and PhD holder Satyavrat Singh had teamed up to float ‘Wah’ water ATMs installed on e-rickshaws. With an investment of `2.5 lakh, they built a water vending unit after taking loan. The unit has sensors to gauge the quality of water being dispensed and it is displayed in real time. The technology used is so perfect that if something disturbs the quality of water, the machine will be shut down by a cloud application.
