“With a special flag hoisting ceremony on May 2, formal working will start in the new high court building Chief justice Dhananjay Yeshwant Chandrachud will also be present on this occasion,” said HGS Parihar, president, Oudh Bar Association, Lucknow high court.

“Shifting of files and other necessary infrastructure to the new building is already going on. If some things remain to be shifted even after May 2, it would not hamper work in the new building ,” Parihar added.

In the month-long summer vacation from June 1 to 30, the pending shifting is likely to be completed. For allotment of chambers in the new building, a three-member committee comprising senior judges of the Lucknow high court has already been constituted. This committee would oversee the allotment of chambers to lawyers on the basis of their seniority.
