HYV to oppose Owaisi’s UP visit

The threat issued by Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) has forced the state unit of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) to demand additional security for its chief Asaduddin Owaisi during his two-day visit to east UP commencing from Saturday.

The state convener of AIMIM Shaukat Ali said, “Owaisi will visit Siddhartha­nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar and Azamgarh on Saturday. On Sunday he will visit Sarai Mir and Sanjarpur in Azamgarh. Later he will visit Jaunpur and Varanasi districts.”

A right wing outfit HYV that has presence in various districts in east UP has decided to oppose the visit of Owaisi . The HYV activists have planned to show black flag and placards to Owaisi when his cavalcade moves through Utraula, Domariyaga­nj, Sohratgarh, Mehdawal, Khalilabad towns.

The state president of HYV, Sunil Singh said, “The cadres have geared to oppose Owaisi’s visit. The protest will be peaceful, the HYV members will tell Owaisi to go back and put barriers on the roads. His anti-national stance became clear after he opposed ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogan. We will not allow an anti-national person to set foot in east UP.”

Launched by BJP’s Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath, HYV plans to strengthen its grip over the Hindu community by opposing visit of Owaisi. Recently HYV had organ is ed‘gharwa pa si’ movement in east UP and held reconversi­on programme in the villages of Kushinagar, Gorakhpur and Maharajgan­j districts.

Taking about the visit Ali said, “Owaisi will not address any public meeting or participat­e in a roadshow. He will meet the district unit members and inaugurate the party election campaign office in the districts. In view of the HYV protest I have sent a letter to DGP as well as all the district magistrate, superinten­dents of police to provide adequate security to AIMIM chief”, he said.
