For transparency, let CPMT examinees take home question paper, says AAP

-

LUCKNOW: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has demanded that candidates appearing in the combined pre medical test-2016 (CPMT2016), the gateway to MBBS and BDS seats in the state run medical institutes, be allowed to take home question paper when they complete the test, as is done in other entrance exams.

Committee for education reforms of the AAP has raised the demand saying this will bring transparency in the most prestigious medical entrance conducted by the state. “Last year the directorate of medical education had uploaded the question paper on its website, two days after the exam was conducted. But why can’t candidates be given the question paper when they are charged examination fee,” said Ghanshyam Srivastava, chairman of the committee.

Vaibhav Maheshwari, AAP’s state spokesperson said when transparency is maintained in all other exams conducted at state and national why can’t same be practiced in CPMT.

Giving further reasons, he said CPMT exam comprises of question that have calculations in decimal and it is difficult for the candidate to remember the values in questions after leaving the examination hall.

“In such a case if there are some changes made in original question paper before uploading the same on the web site, no one will be able to challenge it,” said Srivastava. The CPMT exam is on May 17.
