“India’s events industry is still nascent, yet it holds great potential. In recent years, India hosted a number of national and international events like the Balloon Air Show, Defence Expo, Auto Expo, Commonwealth Games, Indian Premier League (IPL), Khajuraho Dance Festival and other well-known reality shows. Organising such events requires professionals to handle them in a scientific manner for them to succeed,” Prof Dixit said. “The ITS has introduced wwa post-graduate programme named MEM, which aims to nurture trained professionals. This course has also been recognised by the Union ministry of tourism, for which they have given financial assistance to develop the programme,” he added.
