Modi ministers in UP villages today
Several union ministers, along with the BJP’s entire state leadership in Uttar Pradesh, would fan out across the state’s countryside to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ that would be broadcast live across all the gram sabhas of the country.
Though a countrywide event, the maximum focus is likely to be on Uttar Pradesh from where the PM is a Lok Sabha MP.
Nearly 14 union ministers are expected to hear the PM’s speech from Jamshedpur to bring the curtain down on a 10-day long ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ that was launched on Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary on April 14. The PM’s village out-reach initiative is timed with the Panchayati Raj Day on Sunday. The BJP chief Amit Shah would be in Ghaziabad. Union home minister Rajnath Singh (Varanasi), union defence minister Manohar Parrikar (Rae Bareli), HRD minister Smriti Irani (Amethi), union MSME minister Kalraj Mishra (Deoria), union ministers Uma Bharti (Jhansi), Maneka Gandhi (Pilibhit) minister of state for HRD Ram Shankar Katheria (Agra), Mahesh Sharma (Gautam Buddha Nagar), Manoj Sinha (Ghazipur) would be among the several ministers expected in UP villages on Sunday.
Party’s UP in-charge Om Mathur, Lucknow mayor Dinesh Sharma, state BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya, BJP legislative party leader Suresh Khanna, BJP lawmaker from Lucknow (east) Gopal Tandon, Ashok Kataria and former BJP chiefs SP Shahi, Ramapati Ram Tripathi, Laxmikant Bajpai too would be in various parts of the state.
