Babbar flays SP government, says party dividing society
Attacking the ruling Samajwadi Party in its stronghold Kannauj, UP Congress chief Raj Babbar on Monday said “socialism was restricted to just one family in Uttar Pradesh and was being used to divide the society.”
Using the term samajwad he said it has extensively been used in the family.
“Everyone is a CM, everyone is a minister, public representatives come only from one family,” he said at a public meeting in SRS College ground in Kannauj on Monday during the party’s ’27 Saal-UP Behaal’ yatra.
Kannauj is former constituency of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and is currently represented in Lok Sabha by his wife Dimple Yadav. He said Dimple Yadav was like his daughter and he won’t make any comment about her.
Babbar, who’s leading the yatra in absence of party’s chief ministerial face Sheila Dikshit, attacked the SP government over poor law and order situation in the state.
Dikshit was to come in a helicopter separately as she had to return to Delhi because of acute dehydration.
The yarta entered Kannauj from Hardoi where Babbar held a well-attended public meeting. Congress in charge for UP Ghulam Nabi Azad, senior leaders PL Punia, Rajiv Shukla and many other were also present.
Babbar also ruled out any alliance in UP for 2017 polls and said the party would form the next government in the state.
Speaking on the occasion Azad said the UP people always complained that Congress never contest elections with a face.
“Party has taken care of this general complaint. Sheila ji who did wonders in Delhi will develop UP as chief minister,” he said.
