Photo of Dayashankar at J’khand temple goes viral
LUCKNOW: The city police have stepped up their search for expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh even as a photograph of his visit to a Jharkhand temple went viral on the social media only to be removed from his Facebook profile later. The photograph showed him at the Baidyanath temple in Deoghar, Jharkhand.
Sources said he went to offer worship there last Sunday with two local associates, according to the photograph. Singh has been on the run since his derogatory comment against BSP chief Mayawati last week set off a political storm. The cops quizzed some of Singh’s family members in Lucknow about his whereabouts and got in touch with the Bihar as he is suspected to have moved to his native village in Buxar.
“Dayashankar Singh’s younger brother Devendra Singh, who is a constable with Lucknow traffic police, was also quizzed but he feigned ignorance about his whereabouts.
The police are keeping vigil on the movement of other family members and some people stated to be very close to him in order to track Singh’s location,” said Manzil Saini, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Lucknow. She said the electronic surveillance team was scanning the details of frequent callers to Dayashankar.
