Dadri lynching: Victim’s son meets ADG, demands fair probe

-

LUCKNOW: The family members of the Dadri lynching victim Mohammad Akhlaq met additional director general of police on Wednesday and demanded fair investigation in the case.

Victim’s son Mohammad Sartaj along with his lawyer Mohammad Asad and other members of the family met ADG Daljeet Chaudhary and expressed his apprehension that the meat sample sent to the Mathura lab might have been changed. He pointed out that the meat sample sent to Mathura lab weighed 5 kg whereas the original sample weighed only 2 kg.

The ADG assured Sartaj of fair investigation. Mohammad Asad, lawyer of the Akhlaq family said, “The forensic report of the Mathura lab is not reliable and cannot be taken as evidence.”

Sartaj also raised said police did not seal the meat sample collected from outside his house in Bishada on wee hours on September 29 last year. Meanwhile, the family is also planning to move Allahabad high court seeking quashing of the FIR against the family. A court in Surajpur on July 14 this year ordered the registration of an FIR against the kin of Mohammad Akhlaq for alleged cow slaughter following an application from residents of Bishada.
