SCC chalks out farming plan for eastern UP
The state coordination committee (SCC) has recommended cultivation of maize, pulses, oilseeds as well as production of milk and meat in 27 east UP districts to double farmers’ income there.
The committee has made this recommendation considering the eastern UP’s agro climatic conditions. Presiding over the state coordination committee meeting, agriculture production commissioner, Pradeep Bhatnagar on Wednesday said the Centre and the State were jointly running the second green revolution to double the income of farmers in the 27 districts under the eastern UP.
Bhatnagar added that the region’s agro climatic conditions were quite different from those of the western UP. He laid emphasis on the need for chalking schemes and plans for the region in keeping with its climatic situation.
