Boycott PDP MLAs, say J&K separatists

Separatists have asked people to boycott MLAs of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as they facilitate the “oppression of their own people”.

A joint statement by separatists, which includes hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani and moderate leaders Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF’s Yasin Mallik, asked for a social boycott of leaders. “Since they claim to represent people whom they have gravely betrayed, it’s time people hold them accountable and pressurise them to vacate. People shall ostracise and boycott them at all levels, socially and publicly. People shall refuse to interact with them at community and public places. They shall no longer be allowed to exploit the people and the sacred freedom struggle,’’ the statement read.
