LUCKNOW: Job seekers who have been hunting for placements through the employment exchange’s portal and have not been able to make it through final selections need not worry now. The employment office in the state is planning to hold special personality development and computer training sessions to ensure that no candidate misses out on job opportunities.

“Looking at the placement records of the last four months after the website was inaugurated, we have noticed that there are a number of candidates who miss it by a small margin. In order to ensure that such people also get placements as per their qualifications, we are planning to hold a meet with the human resource officials of various companies and find out reasons that led to the failure of candidates. We would arrange counselling and training of such candidates,” said PK Pundir, senior official of the department.

“We would prepare the candidates for their desired employments,” said Pundir.

Launched in April this year, the employment portal of the state ‘sewayogan.up.nic.in’ has facilitated around 4,000 employments, said officials.

“Most of such jobs have been for simple graduates and even those with an intermediate degree. There haven’t been many placements for technical candidates. But we are trying to tie up with big companies to ensure placements for those with higher degrees and qualifications,” said Pundir.

The job portal of the state government managed by the employment office has eased the work of manual registrations. Job seekers can now enroll for the portal which works like any other job portal. However, unlike other private portals that require money for registration, the government employment website is free for one and all. Candidates can get themselves registered and apply for jobs that suit their qualification.
