Govt to admit girls at residential school: Maliwal

-

The abandoned minor girls rescued from Samaypur Badli will be enrolled in a Delhi government-run residential school, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal said.

Maliwal met the sisters at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital on Friday.

The sisters were found locked in a room after neighbours complained of a foul smell coming from the house. Neighbours informed the police and the girls were rescued.

Maliwal said the DCW counsellors will be with the girls round-the-clock. “The girls need a guardian. Our counsellors will help them,” she said.

Maliwal said she had spoken to the women and child development minister Sandeep Kumar to ensure that the girls are looked after. Police said that the father allegedly left the girls alone in their rented house at Radha Vihar of Nepali Colony on August 17.
