Wenger denies being in panic-buying mode

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal are close to completing the signings of Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi for around £52m but denied suggestion­s he is panic buying and warned that football fans will be “amazed” at the amount of money spent by Premier League clubs before the transfer window closes on Wednesday. GRANADA: Spanish football club Granada has signed talented midfielder­s Sergi Samper and Andreas Pereira on loan from FC Barcelona and Manchester United respective­ly.

In two separate statements issued on Friday, Granada said they reached the agreements to sign the two young players on loan for a season.

NAIROBI: Kenyan police raided the country’s Olympic headquarte­rs on Saturday probing a corruption scam that saw some of the nations’ athletes deprived of team uniforms at the Rio Games.Three officials have been arrested in the investigat­ion, and the raid turned up dozens of boxes containing uniforms that were destined to be worn by athletes at the Rio opening ceremony.
