Shah calls for uprooting SP, BSP from the state

Nehru’s policies were influenced by the West: BJP chief

- Hemendra Chaturvedi

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah said alternate rules of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the last 15 years had failed to usher in development in UP while many other states progressed.

He asked the electorate to vote BJP to power in the state while ensuring complete rout of the SP and the BSP. Shah said if his party came to power in UP, the GDP of the nation would cross the 10% mark.

The BJP chief also raised questions on the policies of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru after Independence and held that for one reason or the other, the credit for the country’s freedom went to the Congress. He alleged that Nehru’s policies were influenced by the West and thus Jansangh was formed by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to provide an alternative ideology to save the nation.

“UP has seen little development in the last 15 years of alternate rules of SP and BSP. Till when would people continue voting for these parties,” he questioned and asked voters to uproot SP and BSP rule in state.

Shah was addressing a public meeting at Deen Dayal Dham – the birthplace of Jansangh ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

Sah Sarkaryawah of RSS Dattatrey Hausbole, BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya, Mathura MP Hema Malini and others were also present on the occasion. “In the last few years, many other states have attained new heights and the nation too has moved ahead, but UP continues to struggle with basic amenities like water, electricity, employment despite having such huge resources,” claimed Shah.

“It’s high time voters of UP saved themselves from the goondaism of SP and corruption of BSP. The masses should now vote for the BJP to make UP an ‘Uttam Pradesh’. With BJP rule in UP, the GDP of India would cross the 10% mark,” added Shah.

“For the first time, voters in India had given a clear majority to a non-Congress rule and the Narendra Modi govt, moving on path shown by Deen Dayal Upadhyay, has brought various schemes for the benefit of people,” he said. Shah said it was due to efforts of late Deen Dayal Upadhyay that BJP was now the biggest party in the world.

Terming Upadhyay’s birthplace as a ‘teerth sthal’ (religious place) for the BJP, Amit Shah went on to question the policies of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. “For one reason or the other, the credit for India’s freedom went to the Congress and the country was ruled by Nehru’s policies which had Western influence,” he stated.
