Maya attacks Yadav family after SC observatio­n on Etawah College

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Wednesday said the state government should take over the management of Chaudhary Charan Singh College, Etawah in view of the serious observatio­ns made by the Supreme Court about the administra­tion of the college.

“The Yadav family has control over the college and they have converted it into their fiefdom,” alleged Mayawati.

The fact was brought before the apex court that a trust comprising of the Yadav family runs the college. In 2003, the state government had released Rs 100 crore for the college. The college also received various others grants from the state government as well.

Court has stated that the state government has infused heavy amount in the College. He has suggested that state government should take over the management of the college.

The court has given five weeks’ time to the state government and next hearing will be held on November 7.

Continuing attack on the Samajwadi Party, Mayawati said when Mulayam Singh Yadav was chief minister there was large misuse of CM discretion­ary fund. The rules regarding the expenditur­e of government were overlooked.

“In view of complaints regarding corruption in the CM discretion­ary fund, the BSP government ordered probe and FIR was registered in various districts. But due to change in power, no action could be taken against the guilty persons,” she said.

“If BSP returns to power it will order probe into CM discretion­ary fund and take strict action against those guilty of misusing it,” she said.

Hearing a PIL on Tuesday, a Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur had said the state government must take over the management of the Etawah College since the state government had sanctioned Rs 100 crore into the infrastruc­ture of the college and also gave financial aid to the college.
