Mega call centre gets positive feedback on welfare schemes
As many as 70,000 beneficiaries gave a thumbs up to the state government welfare schemes in their feedback recorded by the ‘Mega Call Centre’ on the second day of its existence on Wednesday. Officials associated with the call centre said most people dubbed the schemes a ‘boon for the masses’.
Feedback was mostly received in response to the state government’s 108 ambulance scheme, 102 ambulance service and Samajwadi pension scheme. “It’s great to be associated here and to collect feedback of the beneficiaries, who are praising the state government’s initiatives a lot, especially the 108 ambulance services that have saved lives of many,” said an employee with the call centre. Similarly, the response to other services was encouraging as well.
The mega call centre was inaugurated by the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday to gather feedback from beneficiaries of various government schemes. This initiative is said to be the first of its kind in any state. “It’s for the first time that any attempt has been made to reach out the masses even before they could reach out to us,” said the CM.
Currently, around 13 departments and 20 welfare schemes including dial 100, free medical facility, 108 ambulances, 102 ambulance services, kanya vidya dhan scheme, laptop distribution scheme and others are linked to the call centre. Officials said other departments would soon be linked as well.
Shivendra Pratap Singh, AGM Karvy—the agency responsible for the call centre operations, said, “call centre is more to collect feedback of the masses and to hear from them how government has helped them out in hard times. On the first day of its operation, around 60,000 calls were made to the beneficiaries.”
He also informed that there were 350 employees in the centre who could also register their grievances that would be forwarded to the principal secretary.
