High alert in UP too
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh has been put on high alert in view of the Indian army’s surgical strikes across the border.
ADG (law and order) Daljeet Singh Chawdhary has directed all IGs, DIGs, and district police chiefs to keep a watch on antinational elements, terror outfits and their sympathisers, and take preventive action. They have been asked to launch special search in each district and activate intelligence units. Police officials have been asked to maintain strict vigil on social media and take legal action against people circulating any misleading information.
The Chaudhary Charan Singh airport at Amausi has also been put on high alert. The airport administration has appealed to the passengers for cooperation with authorities for security check, which has been tightened. The Central Industrial Security Force, incharge of airport security, has increased the number of armed guards. High alert has also been sounded at Charbagh railway station. Police teams with sniffer dogs are keeping a watch and some suspected passengers were stopped and frisked by police. The alert will remain in force till the end of the festive season.
