State to HC : No need to transfer Dadri case to CBI

The state government on Thursday stated before the Allahabad high court that there was no need to transfer the investigat­ion into the Dadri lynching case to Central Bureau of Investigat­ion, as the state police had already filed a chargeshee­t in this matter. Further, the investigat­ion cannot be transferre­d on the request of the accused.

One of the accused Sanjay Singh had filed the present writ petition, requesting the court to direct a CBI probe into this case. The court at one stage had directed the state government to file its reply in the mater. While taking the affidavit filed by the state government on record, a division bench comprising justice Ramesh Sinha and justice SB Singh directed to list this case after two weeks for hearing. The state government was represente­d by additional advocate general Imran Ullah.
