After two back-toback strikes of a tribal gang, a gang of burglars wreacked havoc on the outskirts here. The burglars raided houses of two farmers and fled with cash and valuables worth Rs 15 lakh in a Bakshi Ka Talab village during the wee hours on Thursday.

The incident took place in Kathwara village. The burglars struck at the houses of Ram Sewak and Mathura Prasad Verma between 1 to 2am. They first targeted the house of Ram Sewak when he and his family were sleeping in an open verandah. The burglars entered the house by scaling the boundary wall and ransacked the entire house. They took away around Rs 8,000 and ornaments worth Rs 8 lakh.

Later, the gang entered the house of Mathura Prasad and took away around Rs 50,000 and ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh. The two families came to know about the theft when some of their family members woke up at around 3am and then alerted others about the incident.

The burglars even attempted theft in the house of Putti Lal, a resident of the adjoining Beechkheda village but fled as the villagers woke up.

Earlier, the tribal gang members struck at a farmer’s house in Baajnagar village of Kakori in the wee hours on Wednesday. The gang badly beat up the farmer’s family after holding them hostage for two hours and made away with cash and valuables worth Rs 3 lakh.

On Tuesday night, the tribal gang had struck a carpenter’s house and looted it after holding the family hostage. The dacoits forcibly took the carpenter’s daughter with them while leaving the spot and allegedly gang-raped her in a nearby field.
