Mahotsav to begin on classical note
Lucknow Mahotsav is likely to begin with a classical rendition by Kavita Krishnamurthy on November 25 and close with performances by Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Girija Devi.
The names of artistes who would perform during the cultural extravaganza were proposed during a meeting of the Mahotsav Committee on Thursday. These included Krishna-Sudesh for comedy nights; Pratap Faujdar, Wadali brothers for Sufi night; Neha Kakkad, Amit Mishra, VishalShekhar and Amit Trivedi for rock night. The other names included Roop Kumar Rathore, Pankaj Udhas, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mika, Preetam, Gurdas Maan, Manoj Tewari, Sharda Sinha and Diwakar Dwivedi.
Commissioner Bhuvnesh Kumar, who presided over the meeting, said there would be provision for online tickets for visitors to the Mahotsav this year. He also said in addition to Jhulelal Park, ‘patangbazi’ would be organised at Janeshwar Misra Park as well.
Like previous years, special buses to ferry people to the Mahotsav at Regional Park Ashiana would also be made.
