June 9: Special Forces carried out cross-border strikes, targeting two insurgent camps Two assault teams, consisting of 40 soldiers each, from the 21 Para (Special Forces) Regiment penetrated 5 to 7 kilometres inside Myanmar trekking through thick jungles Army said it inflicted heavy casualties but did not reveal numbers. The decision to go in for a hot pursuit was taken just hours after the ambush on June 4 at a meeting chaired by home minister Rajnath Singh.
