At his Bulandshahr road show, Rahul Gandhi praised PM Narendra Modi for the surgical strikes undertaken by the army in PoK.

BULANDSHAHR: During his road show in Bulandshahr on Friday, part of the ‘Deoria-Delhi’ Kisan Yatra, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the recent surgical strikes undertaken by the Indian army in PoK. He said that both the Congress party and he stood with the PM on the issue of checking cross-border terrorism. At the same time, he also berated Modi for ignoring the interests of farmers, labourers and the poor.

Addressing the huge crowd, which included youngsters and women too, Rahul Gandhi said that in past two and a half years years the surgical strike was the first action taken by Modi that one would “expected from a PM”. “For the first time, the PM has done good work for which the Congress party and I support him,” said Rahul, adding that the entire nation stood with the prime minister on the issue.

The Congress VP also congratulated the Indian Army, thanked the jawans and offered his condolence to the martyrs.

However, Rahul did not forget to target Modi for promoting the interests of industrialists while ignoring the cultivators.

“Modiji did not do anything for the farmers, the poor and the labourers,” he claimed, adding that the PM had waived off loans of industrialists but not those of the poor.

He also voiced the demand of ASHA workers for increased honorarium and promised to raise the issue in the Parliament.

Earlier, after landing at the helipad at police lines here, Rahul was welcomed by Congress leaders.

Soon after, he started the road show that passed through the city streets packed with his supporters, who offered him garlands.
