LUCKNOW: The Aishbagh Eidgah in the state capital turned into a venue for anti-Pakistan protests after the Friday prayers. Muslim youths turned up in large numbers to take part in the anti-Pakistan demonstrations and express solidarity with the Indian Army’s surgical strikes in PoK. Special prayers for the nation’s armed forces were also offered at the Eidgah.

Agitators denounced Pakistan for allowing its land to be used for terrorism and anti-India activities. The youngsters demanded more surgical strikes deep inside the Pakistani territory to dismantle the country’s terror infrastructure.

Islamic scholar and imam-e-eidgah, Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali was present on the occasion. “The Indian government took the correct decision to carry out surgical strikes in PoK. The move was actually overdue,” he said, adding, “It was after exercising restraint for so many years that the Indian government took the decision to take such an action against terrorist camps operating out of PoK. It’s a befitting reply to our neighbour.”

The Islamic scholar asserted that while India wanted peace with Pakistan, it was not at the cost of the country’s sovereignty and self-respect.

“No nation can tolerate terrorist attacks on its soil like India has done for so long. Despite so many terrorist attacks all across the country, India kept quiet for years. But Pakistan mistook this for India’s weakness,” said Farangi Mahali.
