LU’S INDUSTRIAL INTERFACE HUB TO BE REVIVED

- HT Correspondent

The industrial interface hub (IIH) set up at Lucknow University will soon get a new lease of life.

A meeting for its revival was held on Thursday in which the committee discussed the various means through which the students could be benefitted from the hub.

“In the meeting led by vicechancellor Prof SB Nimse, it was discussed as to how value addition could be done for students of the varsity, so that they can become professionals and entrepreneurs while they are pursuing their studies,” said Prof Narendra Pandey.

An awareness programme would be launched among students which would be followed by workshops and live projects that could be online and if required infrastructure is developed it could also be held face to face, he added.

The workshop and live projects will be followed by an internship program spanning from 3 weeks to 3 months. During this period, students will be sensitized and trained according to the needs of the industry and as per their own skills.

The basic idea is to bridge the gap between the requirements of the industry and the skills and education of the students in the academia.

Recently, government of India had launched many projects like Skill India, Make in India, Digital India, Startup program, etc, and IIH aims to be the link between these programs and the aspiring students.

A need to establish career guidance and counselling centre other than a placement cell was also discussed during the meeting.
