WIZMIC INAUGURATED

The 4-day International Mathematics Competition ‘Wizmic-2016’ organised by City Montessori School, RDSO Campus was inaugurated on Sunday in an eventful manner at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Chief guest, Mahesh Sharma, minister for state (independent charge), tourism and culture, Government of India, lit the lamp and inaugurated the function. On the occasion, CMS students presented Indian folk songs and dances and other educational-cultural items and spread the message of world peace and unity leaving the audience spell-bound. Besides, the young mathematicians from Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, South Africa and various states of India who are participating in ‘Wizmic-2016’ introduced themselves in style which were applauded by the august gathering. The occasion was also marked by the presence of renowned personalities viz Dr Simon L Chua, president, Mathematics Trainers Guild, the Philippines and others as the guests of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Sharma lauded the efforts of CMS RDSO campus for bringing the young mathematicians of the world on a common platform. He said that Indian tradition has always been a symbol of unity in diversity.
