Pt Birju Maharaj shares his passion for dance

GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow has played host to numerous celebrities and achievers who have carved a niche for themselves in the society. Recently, the school got an opportunity to welcome the legendary Padma Bhushan Awardee, Pandit Birju Maharaj, and his foremost disciple, Saswati Vidushi Sen. Maharaj performed the mesmerizing dance of rhythmic birds and the students were awestruck at his thumree and bhajan. He acknowledged the importance of ghungroos and how it helped him to travel to different parts of the world. His passion and dedication played an instrumental role in spreading the tradition of Kathak worldwide. He interacted with the students and the excitement of the students was clearly evident when everyone wanted to get a photograph clicked with him.
