CHANGING FORTUNES

-

Of late, India have begun to dominate Pakistan. While the overall record is still poor, the gap is narrowing...

Tide seems to have turned India’s way in matches with archrivals Pakistan in the last five years. While Pakistan have enjoyed an upper hand in encounters with the traditional rivals till the end of the first decade of the new millennium, India have done better in the last few years. Since 2010, India and Pakistan have played 26 matches of which India have won 11 and lost 8. Seven encounters ended in draw. Since 2000, India claimed honours in 25 of the 73 matches against Pakistan, the latter having upper hand in 35 clashes — 13 matches were drawn. Sunday’s win was India’s 54th against Pakistan in 166 matches. India have lost 82 while 30 ended in draw.
