THE WOMAN’S SON BHAVYA GUPTA LODGED AN FIR UNDER IPC SECTION 364 WITH CHINHAT POLICE STATION ON FEBRUARY 14 WHEN HE COULD NOT FIND HER WHEREABOUTS.

LUCKNOW : Renu Gupta the property dealer, who went missing under mysterious circumstance February 11 was reportedly kidnapped and murdered over a monetary dispute.

Police were unable to trace Gupta since she went missing. Her body was later found in Behraich on Wednesday.

The crime came to the fore on Thursday when her business partner, Navneet Jaiswal and her domestic help, Kamal Sahu confessed after their arrest. Kamal’s two other friends, Akash and Chottu, involved in the crime are still at large.

Renu, 42, had been handling her husband Dinesh Gupta’s property dealing business after his death due to illness around a year ago.

Jaiswal, who earlier worked with Dinesh, had borrowed Rs 25 lakh from her. Despite repeated reminders, Jaiswal had not returned the amount.

“Jaiswal revealed that the woman would insult him publicly and was forcing him to return the loan. Sahu was also upset because she had not paid his salary for several months,” said Pradeep Kumar Yadav, inspector of Chinhat police station.

He said Jaiswal convinced the woman’s domestic help to be a part of his conspiracy. Jaiswal offered to return her money to her near her house in Square Apartments in Chinhat.

The duo had her kidnapped when she showed up at the meeting point.

The inspector said Jaiswal along with Kamal and his two friends held the woman hostage in a car and took her to Barabanki.

Kamal and his friends strangulated her to death when she tried to shout for help.

The accused then disposed off the body at deserted stretch near Kaiserganj in Behraich. The inspector said Jaiswal and Kamal were the key suspects from the start the duo had been missing since the woman’s disappearance.

Yadav said the woman’s son Bhavya Gupta lodged an FIR under IPC section 364 with Chinhat police station on February 14 when he could not find her whereabouts for around three days. He said the Indian Penal Code sections 302 for murder and 201 for concealment of crime were added in the FIR after the body was found.
