Now, admissions to Lucknow University through entrance test
Admissions to undergraduate and post graduate courses in Lucknow University for session 2017-18 will be made through entrance test, according to a decision taken by the admission committee in a meeting on Saturday.
While the UG test will have multiple choice questions, the PG test will have a mixture of short answer questions and others.
Prof Anil Mishra of the department of chemistry has been reappointed as admission coordinator for UG, PG and Ph D courses for the session 2017-18. Admission will be centralised for the entire university.
Admissions in management courses will also be made under the centralised system and Prof Mishra will coordinate that also.
For admission to the backlog batch of the LLM, a committee has been appointed under pro vice chancellor Prof UN Dwivedi.
The committee will look into the practicability of running the semester for this batch and also ensure that the students’ welfare is not compromised. The committee will give its report in 15 days.
The admission committee also decided that colleges running computer application subjects would be allowed to convert them to BCA course so that their infrastructure was optimally used.
Pali, Buddhist Studies and Functional English would be run as diploma courses only.
Colleges will be asked to provide seats in colleges combination-wise. Colleges will also provide sanctioned posts of teachers.
The data will be compiled both for aided and self finance colleges.
