LU STUDENTS WRITE TO GOVERNOR AGAINST VICECHANCELLOR
A group of BA English honours students have written a letter to the governor alleging misbehaviour by the vice chancellor. The students said alleged he misbehaved with them when they went to meet him on Saturday to submit a petition regarding change in the examination scheme. Talking to HT, Sadaf, a BA English honours student said, “We went to meet the vice chancellor regarding change in examination schedule but he was abusive and dismissive. He refused to listen to us and critiscsed our teachers. He was also sarcastic in his tone.” Sadaf said the students had problems with the examination scheme. “The examinations are beginning from March, which is about a month earlier than the regular time of examination. We had, therefore, gone to meet the VC with recommendations from our head of the department,” she said. Around 15 students have signed the letter that has been sent to the chancellor of universities. The students alleged that the VC did not listen to their problem and they were asked to move out of the VC’s room.
