UP CM Akhilesh Yadav once again presented ‘facts’ to counter the claims of PM, BJP chief and other leaders. Akhilesh called upon the beneficiaries of laptop and Kanya Vidhya Dhan schemes to counter “mass copying” charge.

LUCKNOW : Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav once again presented ‘facts’ to counter the claims of prime minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national chief Amit Shah and other BJP leaders.

Akhilesh called upon the beneficiaries of his government’s laptop and Kanya Vidhya Dhan schemes to teach Modi a lesson for his “mass copying” statement. The CM was addressing reporters in Lucknow on Sunday, on the eve of the fifth phase of polling in the state.

He sought to demolish “BJP’s propaganda that SP government engaged in appeasement politics in laptops and other schemes.”

He read out a list of the first 10 beneficiaries of both the laptop and Kanya Vidhya Dhan schemes. There was no Muslim and only one Yadav (in ninth position) among the first 10 laptop recipients according to the list. In the Kanya Vidhya Dhan scheme, there was no Muslim and no Yadav among the first 10 recipients. Most of the names in both the schemes were upper caste. Akhilesh challenged Modi to meet him in any UP village or district to compare what NDA government did for UP in three years and what the SP government did for every district in UP in five years. He also challenged BJP MP Yogi Adityanath to grab a high tension wire. “Those who say that Gorakhpur doesn’t get power must catch a power cable. Then we will see,” Akhilesh laughed. Earlier this week, Akhilesh Yadav came out with “hard facts” to counter Modi’s statement that if villages were getting burial grounds then they should also get cremation grounds, and if power was given in Ramzan, then it should be given in Diwali too. Akhilesh produced documentary evidence that his government supplied an equal amount of power during Ramzan, Diwali, or Christmas. It had made budgetary provisions for cremation grounds in villages just as burial grounds.

“The PM now has given even power supply a communal colour,” said Akhilesh. He said that SP-Congress alliance will win 300 seats. Akhilesh ended the press conference by talking about Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, addressing her as ‘Bua’, he said: “If Bua has any fear, then she is welcome to call on 1090 (women helpline) and see how it will come to her aid.”
