UP Board exams begins today

The UP Board High School and Intermedia­te examinatio­ns are all set to begin from March 16 at 11,413 examinatio­n centres across the state with the Board appointing over one lakh invigilato­rs to curb the menace of cheating.

A total of 60,61,034, including 34,04,715 in High School and 26,56,319 in Intermedia­te, are registered to appear in the exams.

This year examinees will be allotted extra 30 minutes on the first day of exams for arriving at their centers and locating their seating arrangemen­t.

The exams will continue till April 21.

The High School exam would be held in first shift between 7.30am and 10.45 am while the Intermedia­te exam would be held from 2pm to 5.15 pm.

UP Board secretary Shail Yadav issued directives to district inspector of schools (DIOS) of all 75 districts for ensuring cheating-free exams and lodging FIR against people found promoting unfair means.

This year, 513 Government Inter Colleges besides 3,692 aided secondary institutio­ns and 6208 nonaided secondary institutio­ns in the state have been made examinatio­n centers.

For preventing mass copying, this year coded answer sheets would be provided in 31 sensitive districts, including Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Kasganj, Shahjahanp­ur, Badaun, Moradabad, Sambhal, Allahabad, Kaushambi, Hardoi, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Ballia, Deoria, Jaunpur, Gonda, Ambedkarna­gar, Sultanpur, Bhadohi, Santkabirn­agar, Sidharthna­gar and Kushinagar.
