With lakhs of students appearing for board exams, it is high- stress time for students and parents alike.

However, now beating stress could just be a click away as a mini- therapist could be right in your pockets in the form of stress- busting apps looking to provide quick relief.

Hundreds of these free apps could well be a way out for stressed kids and parents, especially in cities where seeking professional help is either not an option or has limited avenues.

These smart apps use diverse modes to help beat the stress with some relying on breathing techniques while other suggesting appropriate acupressure techniques. Some suggest right meditation, exercise and diet to relax and drive stress away.

However, experts do urge caution while opting for these stress busting apps.

“Self-help can be one’s biggest asset and these apps do provide an option to combat stress and anxiety. There is a range of such anxiety mobile apps available for smartphones that can help students and parents manage stress, sleep, mood and other factors related to one’s anxiety. However, as the app scene is still unregulated in India, caution is needed. A smart user can choose the best-suited app for him/her after going through main features and testing them out,” said Narayanan Srinivasan, professor and head of Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad.
