DPR for T3 to be ready in 9 months
The state capital is set to have a third airport terminal at Amausi.
The process has gathered pace as the state government has cleared all the space hurdles that were coming in the way of the proposal.
EGIS Consultancy Engineers Pvt Ltd has been selected as project consultant for the construction the terminal that would cost around Rs 1,230 crore.
The DPR would be completed within nine months and construction would begin in January 2018. The project is likely to be completed project within four-and-a-half years.
PK Srivastava, director, airport said: “The process for detailed project report (DPR) will start shortly.”
The centrally air-conditioned modular integrated terminal building would be spread over an area of 1,15,000 Sqm (approx).
The capacity of the terminal will be 4,000 peak hour passengers viz. 3,200 domestic and 800 international.
It would be able to cater six million passengers per annum to match the growth trend indicating a traffic of 0.89 million international and 4.66 million domestic passengers by 2025-26.
A meeting of Airport Users Consultative Committee (AUCC) with all the stakeholders had already passed the proposal last year.
The upcoming terminal would be built on Aerocity Model having well defined area for hotels, tourism and commercial activities etc. with state-ofthe-art facilities.
The DPR would be prepared after consultations with airport director, district magistrate, representatives of state administration, UP Tourism, representatives from all operating airlines, customs and immigration authorities, DGCA, meteorological department, LMC, PWD, LMRC, forest department, IATA Agents’ Association, Travel Agents’ Association of India, CII, Hotel Association of India etc.
