SOON, DRIVE AGAINST ILLEGAL ERICKSHAWS
LUCKNOW: Illegal e-rickshaws will face action as the district administration has planned to launch a drive against such vehicles.
In a meeting on Saturday, the transport officials said that e-rickshaw drivers needed a driving license before purchasing the rickshaw from a registered / authorised seller and then a registration before ferrying passengers. However, many drivers are ferrying passengers without fulfilling the norms.
“It has come to our notice that unauthorised shops are also selling e-rickshaw and such rickshaws are not even registered with the transport office,” said a press communique from the office of assistant road transport officer.
The officials have also made an appeal to resident to avoid sitting in rickshaws over the sanctioned capacity of 4 passenger and a driver. Some rickshaws are ferrying over five passengers which is against the rules.
