AMC complimented on patient care, both in war and peace
A ceremonial parade was held at the Platinum Jubilee Parade ground recently, on the conclusion of a three-day interaction between stalwarts from the past and present during the 12th Reunion and 54th Biennial Conference of the Army Medical Corps.
Lt Gen Velu Nair, DGMS (Army) and Colonel Commandant reviewed the parade and complimented the participants for their impeccable turnout and drill. He also complimented all the personnel of the Army Medical Corps for their contribution in patient care, both in times of war and peace and also during disasters, both inside the country and overseas. The parade was witnessed by several senior officers, JCOs, other ranks and their families. The parade was commanded by Col Reetika Karkhanis, the first woman medical officer to do so at the Corps Reunions held so far. This was followed by part three of the Biennial Conference, which was chaired by Lt Gen Velu Nair and deliberated on critical, operational, logistics and cadre management issues to meet the objectives of the Army Medical Corps to operate seamlessly in a changing geopolitical environment & to support future modes of conflict.
During the reunion, technical training competitions were also conducted to assess the skills of paramedical personnel of the Armed Forces Medical Services. The team from Air Force stood first and the Navy was the runners-up in the competition to assess patient care skills. The competition for the Army to assess the combat casualty care skills was won by the Eastern Command whereas the team from Western Command was runners-up. The 12th Reunion and the 54th Biennial Conference of the Army Medical Corps was inaugurated by Lt Gen BS Negi, GOC-in-C, Central Command at an impressive ceremony at Surya auditorium on March 22.
