150 years of HC: PM, CJI to attend closing ceremony
ALLAHABAD: PM Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India J S Khehar, union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, UP governor Ram Naik and UP CM Yogi Adityanath are prominent among those who will attend the closing ceremony of the year long 150th anniversary celebrations of the Allahabad High Court here on April 2. On the occasion, the PM will be the chief guest and special guest of honour will be the Chief Justice of India. The year-long celebrations were inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee on March 13, 2016.
ALLAHABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India J S Khehar, union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, UP governor Ram Naik and UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath are prominent am ong those who will attend the closing ceremony of the year long 150th anniversary celebrations of the Allahabad High Court here on April 2 (Sunday). On the occasion, the PM will be the chief guest and special guest of honour will be the Chief Justice of India.
Chairman of High Court’s Sesquicentennial Committee, justice Tarun Agarwala of the Allahabad high court gave the information to the media on Monday. “Also, many Supreme Court judges, chief justices of other high courts, judges from Uttarakhand, Kolkata and Bombay high courts will also attend the function,” he added.
“The guests of honour include UP governor Ram Naik, chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi, union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and justice Dipak Mishra, a Supreme court judge,” justice Agarwala said.
The closing function will be presided over by chief justice, Allahabad high court, DB Bhosale. The year-long celebrations were inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee on March 13, 2016. The occasion was marked by release of commemorative stamps depicting the buildings of the high court here and its bench in Lucknow.
