Proper approach to interrogat­ion need of the hour: DG, SSB

LUCKNOW: Archana Ramasundar­am, IPS, director general, SSB emphasised on the need to develop profession­al knowledge and soft skills in officers, besides learning the art of interrogat­ion. She exhorted the officers to hone their knowledge of proper procedure and paperwork involved in dealing with border crime.

She said these things while speaking at a workshop on “Interrogat­ion – Methodolog­y and Skills” organised by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Frontier Lucknow to train 30 inspectors/ sub-inspectors of the force on Monday.

The workshop was meant to enhance the interrogat­ion skills of SSB officers deployed along the border.

DG, SSB in her inaugural address stressed that a proper approach to interrogat­ion was the need of the hour to elicit maximum informatio­n from the accused /victims of border crime.

Dr GK Goswami, IPS, DIG and his team from CBI Lucknow delivered the talk/lectures on various methodolog­y and skills of interrogat­ion, specifical­ly keeping in view the needs of SSB. Later, Amit Pathak, IPS, SSP, and his team from STF Lucknow also delivered lectures on various approaches to enhance the interrogat­ion and shared their experience­s.

Thereafter, DG, SSB Archana Ramasundar­am inspected the constructi­on work of 415 Separated Family Accommodat­ion, being constructe­d for officers and Jawans of the force at Shaheed Path, Gomtinagar, Lucknow.

DG, SSB also called on the chief minister Adityanath Yogi at the CM Office. Besides briefing the CM on important issues, she requested for providing land for various establishm­ents of the force for which the proposals were already under considerat­ion. DG SSB said the chief minister had responded positively.
