Yogi visits ailing ND Tiwari at RMLIMS, also inspects facilities

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday morning visited the former CM of UP and Uttarakhan­d ND Tiwari admitted to the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS).

Tiwari, who is suffering from fever due to an infection, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday. He is under the supervisio­n of Dr Bhuvan Chand Tiwari. Yogi Adityanath stayed at the hospital for 20 minutes. He met RMLIMS director Prof Dipak Malviya and discussed the future plans and facilities available at the institute. Rohit Shekhar, son of ND Tiwari, said his father got emotional on seeing the chief minister. “He shares a long associatio­n with Yogi Adityanath,” he said.

According to the health bulletin by doctors treating ND Tiwari, the infection and fever are under control but doctors have advised him to take complete rest for now.

TRAUMA CENTRE PLANNED AT RMLIMS

During the visit, the chief minister also took stock of facilities on the institute campus and inquired about the future plans. “We informed the CM about our plans to start a trauma centre to which he agreed. We also discussed steps to improve facilities at the institute. The CM said there will be no issues in execution of plans to improve services,” said Prof Dipak Malviya, the director of the institute.

The trauma centre may come up near the main campus. The institute authoritie­s said land had been identified and once clearance is obtained from the government then proposal for the same will be submitted.
