Health dept in action amid report of cabinet meet in Allahabad

Amid reports that chief minister Yogi Adityanath may hold a cabinet here to draw a road map for the 2019 Ardh Kumbh Mela, the health department in the Sangam city has suddenly sprung into action.

Fogging has started in different localities with chief medical officer Dr Alok Verma personally supervisin­g all work. Directives have been issued to give a clean new look to rural health centres and sub centres with fresh coat of paint and proper water and electricit­y supply within 15 days.

On finding poor record of Janini Suraksha Yojna in Meja, Karchana, Shankargar­h, Handia, Pratappur, Dhanupur, Jasra and Kaundhiyar­a, the CMO issued warning to the medical officers posted in these areas.

He issued warning to Dr Vartika Agarwal for poor performanc­e of first referral units (FRUs) in Phulpur and Jasra as women couldn’t get proper delivery facilities at these centres. Besides, he gave adverse entry to Dr PK Singh for it.

The CMO has strictly warned all the doctors to ensure that the women get proper diet and treatment facility for minimum 48 hours after the delivery.

The CMO said the doctors would be given adverse entry for missing from hospital and health centres. Superinten­dents and medical officers in charges will have to ensure 100% attendance of doctors. “The hospitals should be spick and span,” he added.

The CMO said three new first referral units would open in Kaudhihar, Chaka and Saidabad soon. Here rural women would be getting round-the-clock delivery facility. He said he was regularly reviewing the health programmes and performanc­e of doctors at different health centres.

“This time laxity on the part of doctors will not be tolerated. Errant doctors will face strict action,” he added. CMO office making list of govt docs doing pvt practice. On the directives of state health minister, Siddharth Nath Singh, the CMO office is preparing a list of government doctors indulging in private practice. “Their names will be sent to the government for further action,” said CMO.
