LU declares B Com III results in 14 days

-

LUCKNOW: Making use of digital bar code system, Lucknow University declared B Com III results on Monday, 14 days after the exams concluded on April 3.

Usually, it took the university a month and a half to declare the results. This year, 8,596 students (4,299 male and 4,297 female) from 84 different colleges took the exam.

Timely results will enable the university to start and complete the admission process for PG courses on time. Besides, students who want to pursue PG from Delhi or elsewhere will be able to apply for their courses. Earlier, LU students had to struggle as admission in Delhi university used to get over by June.

Vice-chancellor Prof SP Singh said this year bundles of copies for evaluation were not made college-wise. Answer sheets from all 84 colleges were collected together and bundles were of 25 copies each.

With digital bar code, there was no need to upload the marks from answer sheets to the roster hence evaluation work was done fast.

Interestingly, the results of Radheyshyam Degree College came in two days only. The exam conducted here on March 29 was cancelled after a case of unfair means was reported here. Hence the exam was held again on April 15 on LU campus.

As soon as the results were announced a rumour spread that students in large number got zero marks.

But the controller of examination refuted any such thing. He said this might be the case with few but not in large number and if any student has a problem with marks they can contact the office concerned.

The next challenge will be to declare BA and B Sc final year results on time. LU V-C Prof SP Singh said all efforts would be made to start the session on time. The results have been uploaded on the university web site www.lkouniv.ac.in
